Drivers and passengers increasingly want access to connected services in their cars. Connected vehicle space is a fast-growing market and a strategic priority for the Automotive Industry. Diagnostic data generated by the various systems can provide automakers with information that can help improve CRM, marketing, customer service, after-sales as well as research and development. Axel Schmidt, managing director – Automotive, at Accenture, presented such an end-to-end vision and approach around connected vehicle.

Axel Schmidt was one of the speakers at the carIT Congress, whose theme was „The car of the future is connected.“ The event took place during the IAA in Frankfurt Sept. 18, 2013. The speaker lineup included Dieter Kempf, head of Germany’s Bitkom high-tech industry association; VDA President Matthias Wissmann; Bernhard Blaettel, head of mobility services at BMW’s i brand; Robert Bosch Managing Director Dirk Hoheisel; and Gustavo Filip, head of automotive OEM at Hewlett Packard. More than 400 participants attended the carIT Congress. In 2014, the event will take place during the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hanover. It will be the fourth time it is held.
