Electronic components are becoming more and more important in cars, even, and especially, as spare parts and accessories. Whether for the navigation system, the control unit, an LCD display or the tire pressure control system, electronics are firmly embedded into car drivers‘ everyday lives. Even in the workshop, no-one manages without such components any more. And an important aspect to note, where do these parts actually come from? For decades, they have been developed and manufactured in the Far East. Taiwan is way ahead in this sector and has a high-performance parts industry. A whole range of Taiwanese companies will present their high-quality spare parts at Automechanika at a joint booth. In Hall 4.2, at booth J49, trade fair visitors can be convinced of the tremendous expertise in development, high levels of flexibility and reliability of the Taiwanese companies.

Taiwan’s auto parts industry has long been one of the strongest and most sophisticated industries in the island. Through the accumulation of knowledge and experience over the decades, Taiwan’s auto parts manufacturers have gained a competitive advantage in the form of production precision and rapid engineering. Taiwan’s auto parts makers also enjoy a highly efficient central-satellite plant system that provides them with a high level of production flexibility.

The fact that ICT technology is firmly rooted in Taiwan offers another huge advantage for the Taiwanese parts industry. It is therefore easy for experience gained in the ICT industries to be carried across to the car. The ever increasingly connected car is starting to resemble a computer on wheels.

Here, those who are already well-versed in similar technologies are a step ahead. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), together with high-performance Taiwanese suppliers will showcase a great selection of Taiwan Excellence Award winning products which are particularly interesting for visitors to Automechanika.

Transcend Information Inc. will thus present a camera, which allows a car“s journey to be conveniently recorded. The camera provides an extra wide 160° viewing angle and high-quality lens which will automatically adjust to light conditions to capture great details of all environments. Car drivers use such cameras for their own security and, in the event of an accident, as evidence for their insurer.

Advantec will present a device at the trade fair that is suitable for interior monitoring of vehicles and can also deliver useful vehicle data for fleet operators. Up to eight cameras monitor the interior of a vehicle, offering an interesting and secure solution for emergency vehicles, such as for the police, fire services and ambulances.

Royal Tek Company will present an in-dash navigation system that is based on the Android mobile operating system at Automechanika. The system provides multi-touch LCD control as well as voice command function, and allows for wireless communication between mobile devices. While the system is installed together with 4 vehicle-mounted cameras, it is able to capture real-time images of around the vehicle and merges them into one 360° top view image of the surrounding environment to eliminate any blind angles.

As part of the Taiwanese Excellence Initiative, Kenda will present two particularly high-performance tires: the Vezda AST is an ultra-high-performance summer tire. It provides excellent durability, handling, and cornering coupled with a quiet and comfortable ride. The Vezda ECO, on the other hand, hasall-season capabilities. With its improved rolling resistance, the tire reduces road noise and provides better handling in wet weather conditions. It especially stands out thanks to excellent efficiency values and thus helps to save on fuel.

The above mentioned products will be presented at a joint press conference during Automechanika. This will take place on 17th September 2014 at 2 PM in the Consens conference room in Hall 4.C at the Messe Frankfurt.
